All at once the river flowed into the precipice
And so began the sinking of the town into the earth
And all the kids were lying at the bottom of the lake
All free for the take.
Free for the take.

All the kids scooped the fish into their bikes
To ride them home and fry them up with onions
All the grown ups screeched about the lake mud in the house
And refused to eat.
Refused to eat.

And if you thought it was a bad bad thing
Can you tell me why all the kids have moved away?
All the factories moved away?
There are those that have often said
That the town began it's sinking long ago.
And only now begins to show.

Thomas Hull from his boathouse watched the waters roll away
As if for Israelites to walk into a better place
But Thomas knew that this was here to stay, and cried aloud
"What am I to do with all these pedal boats?"

And if you thought it was a bad bad thing
